<description>Thank you so much for your interest in my new book:‘Knitting Fashions Of The 1940’s’ It makes all the hard work getting worth it. I wanted everyone to be able to knit up all these wonderful garments from the period as well as including an engaging account of why the knitting was the way it was because of what was going on in the world.

I am signing my new book and talking about it at ‘Olympia’, in Kensington, London, this week from Thursday 22- Sunday 25th …though this won’t be of much interest to those abroad … but if anyone in England would like to come along and meet me and talk about 1940’s knitting, now is your chance.

By the way, if anyone needs to aquire a book in America, 'Trafalgar Square Publishing' is where to get one from. Their address is 814, North Franklin st. Chicago Il 60610 ( Tel: 001-312-337-0747)
My website is janewaller.co.uk and my e-mail janewaller@metronet.co.uk</description>

<description>Hallo ! Met you at knitting &amp;#38; stitching exhib. i Alex. Palace in London in oct. Do you still want me to look for a translater and publicher in Sweden ?
As you maybe know, both danish and norwegians can understand swedish. So it might be a good idea to choose swedish for your book.
I myself is very interested in your book, since I have been collecting swedish knitting books from the 40s because I am interested. I was born 1942 and started to knit when I was about 7 years old.
Yours sincerally

<description>Is your site based in the USA? I put the cost of my new book at 19.95. That's pounds, not US dollars.

It is likely to come out some time in the USA, probably published by Trafalgar Square publishing

<description>Thanks for the mention. My new book, due out at the end of November, is called 'Knitting Fashions of the 1940s: styles, patterns and history'. It's published by Crowood Press (www.crowood.com) and costs 19.95.

There was enoromous interest in it at the recent Stitching &amp;#38; Knitting Show (Alexandra Palace, London) even though the book wasn't available, and all I could show were a number of garments from the book specially knitted up. There are 50 in all (you can even knit your own royal corgi). Hope you all enjoy knitting the old patterns again (Modern needle and yarn eqivalents are given)

love
